The Health Ministry at Beautiful Savior supports the belief that the physical, spiritual, and mental person is inter-related. Its focus is on wellness and prevention achieved through health services, educational workshops and outreach projects.
Some of our current projects are:
-
Quarterly blood drives
-
Flu shots
-
Screenings for skin cancer
-
First Aid kits maintained
-
Defibrillator training and maintenance
-
Educational programs
-
CPR classes conducted by LaVista Fire Department
-
“Trunk or Treats” with the emphasis on healthy treats
-
Fun exercises for seniors
-
Bike Safety Rodeo for young children
-
Disaster training program
-
Mission trips
-
Hand sanitizers provided throughout our facility
-
A medical person present at all events such as the youth versus the staff football game
Many of our members have a background in health care; nursing, physicians, physical therapists, social work, and nutritionist, although the only requirement to be a part of the health ministry is being interested in helping others.
