Friday evenings 7:00 – 9:00 and Sunday worship 10:00 – 11:30. Sunday School classes meet on Sunday at 10 o’clock. All of the services are in Spanish, however some are also bilingual. Call Pastor Felix at 502-6720 for more information.
Jesus Es el Senor moved from Cross Lutheran Church on 20th and Vinton to acquire more space for their growing congregation. The building is being renovated to serve the Sudanese congregation, English Second Language classes, as well as the Hispanic services.
Pastor Obdulio is currently attending theological classes at the Center for Hispanic Studies at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, and is expecting to graduate and be ordained in the summer of 2010. Obdulio and his wife Yoliza, children, David, Mariana, Anna Lee, and Samuel came from Nogales, Mexico in 2007.
The church recently held its first Annual meeting, elected officers, and adopted goals and a budget for the coming year. The pastor’s focus will be on increasing membership, improving the Sunday School curriculum and enlarging the youth program.
One of the church’s outreach programs is the ESL classes. They will begin the second semester with registration on January 7th at 6:30. Classes will be held Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 and Computer Skills Saturday mornings at 9:30. Citizenship classes are also held on Monday evenings.
